Remember that every abusive relationship is different. That’s why it’s redundant to say things like, “You should do this or that,” because what makes sense for one situation might not in that case. No advice will ever be fool proof, which is why it’s so important to offer support, rather than a list of things they should “try” to do. Create a safe space for them, not another place that forces them to walk on ice. Don’t be that person.
